What is School Swimming (SGB)?
School Swimming (SGB) is a structured school-based swimming program designed to help children develop water confidence, essential swimming skills, and strong water safety awareness. Through professional instruction and a safe learning environment, students progress step by step, building technique, endurance, and confidence in the water while working toward recognised swimming levels that support lifelong safety and enjoyment of swimming.
The School Swimming program is suitable for primary and secondary school students. Lessons are adapted to different ages and skill levels, from beginners to more advanced swimmers.

For swimming lessons, please bring swimwear or UV-protective swimwear for your child, sunscreen if necessary, a towel, and dry clothes for after the lesson. Please arrive on time for lessons, preferably 5 minutes early. Parents are asked to remain at the bar or elsewhere at Hillside during the lesson so we can always reach you. The lesson lasts 30 minutes. You can pick up your child from the pool five minutes before the end of the lesson. Every last lesson of the month, there is a “look-and-see” lesson. Parents and interested parties are welcome to observe the lesson.
Children must be accompanied by their parents to the restroom during the lesson. Please note that the floor at Hillside is slippery when wet, so please do not let your child run around on it.
