What does baby swimming entail?
Parent-child swimming lessons are designed for young swimmers (ages 3 months to 3 years). The goal is to get used to the water together with mom or dad. We start teaching swimming techniques (the “swimming ABC”) later. However, there are many things you can do to prepare for that “learning to swim” phase. The complete curriculum consists of Guppy Swimming (with parents, up to 2 years old), followed by Puppy Swimming (without parents, up to 4 years old). Both are a stepping stone to the A diploma of the Swimming ABC.
Enjoy a fun time at the pool every week. There are three Guppy diplomas to earn. Each Guppy level requires completing a series of tests.
Schedule – Baby swimming lessons
Every swimming lesson is spent in the water with mom or dad. Step by step, the little ones are introduced to the water through exercises and games. Being in the water is already quite an experience. Being able to freely explore it is the next step. Splashing and splashing, dipping your head under the water, and looking underwater are all part of the experience.
- Baby swimming lessons are scheduled for Saturday morning . We currently have three groups, divided by age.
- For swimming lessons, you need to bring a swim diaper, swimwear or UV protective clothing for your baby, sunscreen, a towel, and dry clothes for after the lesson. Please note that an adult (usually a parent) must accompany you in the water.
- Classes take place at the Hillside Apartments, in the first pool. You can find a map showing the location at the bottom of the website.
